These programs allow ISA Plug-And-Play devices to be configured on a Linux
machine. This program is suitable for all systems which contain ISA bus
Plug-and-Play cards, whether or not they include a PnP BIOS. The LSM entry.
- 08-Mar-2014: Self hosting files now. Cleaned out lots of broken links.
- 24-Mar-2007: New version released to fix problem building with
gcc4 (Thanks to Michael Shell). See below.
It's
probably worth pointing out that I no longer have any ISAPNP hardware,
so can no longer test it works. Most people will not need these tools
now as the kernel has included support for PNP hardware for some
time.
I've also cleared out dead links on this page.
- 21-Nov-2006: All mail to isapnp and isapnp-announce will now be
deleted without being read. If you want to send a mail, try sending to
isapnp-2006-11.
- 3-Sep-2002: Vladimir Popov has sent in an updated patch for OpenBSD, NetBSD and
FreeBSD. Tested under OpenBSD 3.1-current, NetBSD-1.5.2 and
FreeBSD 4.6.2-RELEASE. In the project top level directory, apply
the patch thus:
patch -sp1 < bsdspatch.txt
then configure must be passed the --disable-realtime,
--disable-proc and --disable-pci switches.
- 30-Aug-2002: I've implemented rather draconian email filtering system, so
if your emails bounce you may need to get a new email address.
- 30-Aug-2002: Would *BSD users please report how they get on with
the patches below, to indicate how support should be added in ?
- 30-Aug-2002: A patch for OpenBSD,

has been received from Ben. In the project top level directory,
apply the patch thus:

then configure must be passed the --disable-realtime and
--disable-pci switches.
- 13-May-2001: Added another pointer in the references section for Agere (Lucent) winmodems.
- 09-May-2001: Version 1.26 has been released, this has no functional changes. It
integrates the DOS real-mode compilation rather better, removing the
need for the dos-rm.zip file. See the changes. MD5 checksums of all the files available. Use md5sum from the GNU
textutils package to check. The FAQ is unchanged.

Due to the fact that the isapnp programs must be run as root, I strongly
recommend that you recompile from source to ensure your system security.
MD5 checksums of all the files are available,
should you want to check against modification or corruption.
